Fraser's Hill Trip ( Day 1 )

24/08/05 (Wednesday)
woke up at 6am, prepared everything (packed 3 big bags with one plastic bag yesterday night) and fetched by Goh's parents.
reached school at about 7.30am, wow, everyone brought many bags...
I thought I would be the one bringing the biggest amount of bags.

We departed at about 8.30am from the school in the big & comfortable air-cond bus. At the same time, Fadzil (who is also the organiser) drove his own car to go.
Inside the bus, it's so spacious as there were only 25 of us.
Other than we humans, our bags also be seated on the seats.
among 25, there were one physics' student (Kesavan), one art class student (Thilai), two ex-classmates of mine ( 5 Mulia's -> Raymond & Jian Wei), two outsiders (one is goh's friend & another one is Shawal's friend) & also a guy [N.S (a malay girl of my class)'s boyfriend's friend]
(if not wrong, they stay in the same room)(they said N.S are going to study in college soon... hmm..)

the bus reached the "gap" at about 10.30am (if I didn't remember wrongly)
(on the half way to fraser's hill, there is a stop, because start from there, there is only a single road to go up to the destination, which means, at the certain time the vehicles are only allowed to go up the hill while other certain time the vehicles are only allowed to go down the hill, both ways are sharing the same road)

so.. to be allowed to go up, we have to wait till 11.00am.
We came down from the bus, and some of us were going to the public toilet nearby.
=.=" it's super dirty! yo.. it's still the same with last time I came up here.
Luckily I didn't drink much water.
while waiting, we saw another bus! The people came down from that bus.. are almost the same age with us, so.. we guessed... we were right by the way....
Goh asked and told us that, they were Jinjang Lower Six students.. also to do the same things like us.
O_O Goh also got a news, that another school lower six students were warned because they caught the insects at there.
oh.. actually it's illegal to do so !! we have to do it illegally!

We reached our staying place at about 11.30am.
It is a big house with few rooms (3 or 4? forgot already), and the living room is the place we would gather at.
Beside this house, there are 5 chalets. Most of the guys stayed in that big house while we chose to stay at the chalets.
Most of us choose to stay in the room according to our group.
My group consists of hoon, ning, teng and me.
The chalet was quite ok overall, no air conditioner no fan (but it's ok, still very cold especially with the windows opened) ~
but once we entered the chalet, teng's killing jar dropped and broke~ haiz... one killing jar gone~

oh ya.. when I wanted to call my mum to report myself... I found out that.. this 016 number... has no line over here T_T" Ning and me kept borrowing handphone from Hoon to make call and sms~
After settled down, we took a rest for a short while, then started to catch insects!

We first caught a small yellowish butterfly after a long chasing, then we put it into the killing jar.
The next step is to 'set' it. However, when we tried to set its wings, the yellowish powder of its wings was peeling off gradually.... then became transparent !
it was our very first victim, for our experiment on how to set ...
and, we saw that, its legs still could move! oh my god, it was still alive !
we all thought it had died @@" then we decided to let it go... hope it didn't die ya, sorry ><
at the same time, other groups were also catching insects~ but we all just did this in the house surrounding~

after having lunch in our chalet (Ning and me took the lunch-box to the chalet; our lunch was fried mee), Goh, Hoon, Teng, M.Kuan, A.Feern, M.Huey and me went to the nearby playground for a walk and took many photos~ We had a lot of fun over there ^^
when return, we saw bukhairi standing at the entrance looking at flowers~ and he also used his handphone to take photos of us ^^
when we walked near the flowers near the house, we saw bees~
immediately we went and got the net, yeah... Kesavan helped us to catch a big bee~
after that, Goh helped us to set it in our room... then, he became our group member... lolx, sorry to khoo ya, we 'rebut' him from your group =p

ah... we had nothing to do after that, Hoon and me just stayed in the chalet and listened to songs using my discman~ while teng was still looking around for insects; Ning was with many people in the living room..

we had our dinner at the living room together with all people together, then went to khoo's room to see photos taken by W.Hong and Goh. The photos were all uploaded into Khoo's laptop already ~ hehe^^

When we walked back to our chalet, we saw many insects "sticked" on the wall especially on those wall under the light ! Instantly, we rushed into the room and took the 'tools' (net or plastic bags, and killing jar) and started our catching work ~
Others heard our 'screaming' and found out those insects too.. haha.. then the whole gang started to chase here and there to catch them.
My group tried to use white cloth (and use a torchlight to shine the cloth so that it looks bright) to attract the insects but it didn't work well.

We walked along the roads in a big big gang with torchlights on hands in slow paces, to search around the plants, grasses for the insects.
After reached at a certain place, we turned back and searched again... until we went back that house. It took quite a long time. Some of us had been the target to leeches... haha... luckily I was not the one. But, the back of my neck had become so itchy... ah... what's the reason? @@
erm... we got quite a lot of insects ^^ Thilai helped us a lot, thx to him~

then, we started the setting work again while some other groups were still chasing after insects.
after a few minutes, they saw the big moth flying around! oh... we also went to catch one... but actually we didn't have to fight for it as more and more moths came out after that.
according to teacher, we must dissect it after we set it! o_O
Goh took it from the killing jar, and set it, then... he used the dissecting tools and started to dissect it....we all were so sad to do so.. and he also felt hard to start the first cut....
the more sadden thing was, we found that... it was still alive... the history repeated again...
by that time, Goh had already cut it and wanted to dig out its 'geli' content....

Hoon and me .. almost cried... my eyes were full with tears but couldn't cry... we felt so sorry to it... really... we even prayed for it to die faster and no need to suffer again....
anyhow, it had strong life-force! An idea came across... we used cotton and dipped it into the ethyl acetate and put it on the moth... to make it died... finally.. it died...
Hardly, Goh continued the job...
if Goh didn't join our group... I can't imagine what will happen to us ... we girls all scare to do so... (maybe teng does not?)
after finished the job.. the last step was to stuff in the cotton to the empty place where the contents were dug out.

oh ya... during the setting and dissecting process, many guys came into our room too..
They were Thilai, Kesavan and sometimes Khoo.... because they couldn't bear with the smoke in the living room... someone smoking.. erm.. is a she, a malay girl (Sya)... we all were so shocked to know it... the "mongrel" was smoking and drinking beer too! He started to drink beers since he was in the bus just now.... N.S the same...

We all... were so tired... feeling want to collapse soon.....
after all things being tidied up, we took bath and went to sleep.... while many other people were still chasing after the insects ~
Four of us... although tired.. but couldn't sleep well... especially me... after they slept, I was still awake... and couldn't fall asleep...
thinking again? maybe, and... the noisy sounds of insects made me felt scary as I was alone.. and ... when I almost fell asleep, I found my hand itchy, then.. there was a small black beetle on my hand... @@" this chalet had many insects always...
ah... then I listened to the classical music using my discman... finally...
