Happy Happy eat Tang Yuan

Happy Winter Solstice !!! 冬至快乐!!
Tomorrow will be the Dong Zhi (冬至) Festival....

Literally meaning the "arrival (至) of winter (冬)", Dong Zhi is the second most important festival of the Chinese calendar, and is considered the thanksgiving of the Chinese calendar.

Dong Zhi is the last festival of the year.
Coinciding with the winter solstice, it is a time for the entire family to get together to celebrate the past good year.

Glutinous rice balls known as Tang Yuan (汤圆) are cooked and eaten to signify unity and harmony within the family.

so, although I didn't help my daddy them to rebuild the ceilings, I did help my grandmother to roll the dough into round balls to make Tang Yuan ^^
As we only wanted to make works simple, we just made plain Tang Yuan;
[those tang yuan are in pink @ white colour, to produce pink colour, we used the colouring powder, .... it's bad for health though... !]
[in fact, my grandmother has tried to make a blue/purple colour's, by using the extraction of the purple flowers (I don't know the name of the flower...), but she failed to make a nice look colour's, and just able to produce a dull blue colour's (maybe looked like grey?)]

There are ways to make more flavours of Tang Yuan, such as by filling in the ground
peanuts
To serve, we will have to cook them in a ginger-flavoured sweet syrup ~
yummy yummy ~
