car accident !!!

few days ago, it was 15.6.05 (Wednesday), night time, the phone suddenly rang when I was playing computer. My daddy said he was involved in a car accident !
it's so surprised to hear that because my daddy is my idol ! I am weak in driving skill; my daddy always drive safely, never happened any accident in all of my life till now as I know [20 or 30 years ago happened before ler as my daddy was still young and not so skillful]
the whole family of mine was so surprised to know this news !! but luckily it's just an accident that was not really serious but involved 5 cars series. My daddy's Iswara car was the fifth one.
Described by my daddy, said that the accident occurred because the first car stopped at the middle of highway suddenly. Then the second car couldn't brake in time, and so on.
My daddy said by the time he started to brake when he saw the car in front of his braked suddenly, the distance between his and that one still quite far. However, the speed was quite high as he was driving at the highway, it's about 80 km per hour. So, although he had braked as far as possible, but still knocked the car in front but with less momentum as he had already slow down the car.
He thought it was just a gentle knock and wouldn't produce a big damage on the front part of the car. But once my daddy got down to the car and saw, haiz.. the proton car is really of not-so-hard material ~ what a 'serious injury' of front part of it.
Now, the car was in the workshop for repairing [maybe for two weeks!!!! aikss... and my daddy also being issued a summon ! @@" all those car owners who knocked the car in front of them also being issued a summon, and the first car owner didn't as he didn't knocked anyone but only being knocked !!!
Anyhow, the one who brought about this accident was the first car owner ! He should be the wrong one but escapable from the summon =.="
how can he stop his car suddenly ? Finally I can understand why the car accident that involved 5 or more cars can happen !
